Verification Mark Usage Policy
Last updated: 16/09/2026
This Verification Mark Usage Policy explains how verified providers may use The CPD Verification Centre's verification badge, reference number, and related branding ("verification marks"). By applying for verification or using our marks, you agree to follow this Policy.
1. Purpose of This Policy
This policy ensures that:
- verification marks are used correctly and responsibly
- learners and clients are not misled
- our brand integrity is protected
- verified activities are clearly identified
2. What the Verification Mark Represents
The verification mark confirms that one specific CPD activity has been independently reviewed and meets recognised CPD principles.
It does not:
- certify your organisation
- approve your trainers
- validate other courses
- guarantee content accuracy or legal compliance
- act as a qualification or regulated award
The mark applies only to the activity that has been verified.
3. Where You May Use the Verification Mark
You may use the verification mark on:
- your website
- marketing materials
- course landing pages
- brochures
- social media posts
- learner information pages
- promotional graphics
All usage must clearly relate to the verified activity only.
4. Where You May NOT Use the Verification Mark
You must not use the verification mark:
- on learner certificates (unless we have given written permission)
- on unverified courses or materials
- to imply organisational approval or accreditation
- in any misleading or ambiguous context
- in a way that suggests partnership, endorsement, or affiliation
- on legal documents, contracts, or compliance statements
If you offer multiple courses, the mark must appear only next to the verified activity.
5. Use of Verification Reference Numbers
Each verified activity receives a unique reference number.
You may display this number:
- on your website
- in marketing materials
- in course descriptions
- in learner information packs
You must not:
- alter the number
- reuse it for other activities
- assign it to new or updated versions without approval
6. Design & Branding Requirements
To maintain consistency:
- the verification mark must not be edited, stretched, recoloured, or modified
- the mark must remain clear and legible
- the mark must not be combined with other logos
- the mark must not be used in a way that reduces visibility or distorts meaning
If you need alternative formats, you may request them from us.
7. Misuse of Verification Marks
Misuse includes:
- using the mark on unverified activities
- implying organisational accreditation
- altering the mark
- using the mark after verification expires
- using the mark during suspension
- using the mark after withdrawal
If misuse occurs, we may:
- request immediate removal
- suspend or withdraw verification
- remove your listing from our register
- take further action if necessary
8. Expired or Withdrawn Verification
If verification expires or is withdrawn:
- you must remove all verification marks immediately
- you must stop using the reference number
- you must update all marketing materials and websites
- you must ensure learners are not misled
9. Reporting Incorrect Use
If you notice incorrect or misleading use of our verification marks by any provider, please contact us so we can investigate.
